Meal Review Monday #5: Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

Bacon rolled up inside cinnamon rolls = the most genius breakfast idea ever!



These were so fast and easy to make, smelled amazing, and tasted good.

Our only complaint was that the bacon didn't get crispy. I mean, I didn't really suppose it would, being cooked inside the cinnamon roll like that, but I went with it anyway. I try to prepare recipes exactly as directed before I review them on Meal Review Mondays, or I don't feel like I'm giving a fair review of the recipe at hand.

Anyway, to be fair, the recipe does say to cook the bacon slightly before rolling it up, I just think it needs to be cooked more than slightly. Next time I make these I will cook it pretty much completely. I anticipate this will make it crack in places as I roll it up inside the cinnamon roll, but I don't care about that; Hubby and I prefer our bacon to be really crispy.

Flavor-wise, though, this recipe is fantastic, especially for something so quick and easy to make.

Final rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars. Crispier bacon would bump this up to 4 stars, and homemade cinnamon rolls would probably take it up even more than that, but then it wouldn't be so quick and easy. ;) However you fix them, though, these are worth making, if for no other reason than that they are fun...and they involve bacon.
