About

Hi, I'm Amber! Thanks for stopping by Apples to Applique!

I truly believe that a child's first five years form a foundation for the rest of his or her life. The way we take action in these little lives today will affect them for years to come! Apples to Applique is all about providing fun and easy resources and ideas for early childhood education.

I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education Unified with Special Education, and a Master's of Education with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction, and currently I am pursuing a Doctorate of Education. I am certified in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and ESOL.
I absolutely love teaching! It is my passion and calling.

You will notice, if you peruse my blog, that there are many older posts featuring recipes and DIY projects. Before I found my niche, I tried to blog about all of the things I love doing, which resulted in a hodge-podge of postings about many topics. This was no doubt confusing, and also draining. I ended up taking a 2-year hiatus from blogging. When I was ready to try it again, I decided to shift my focus and only post about education-related topics.

I opted not to delete old posts that were not education based, as many contained recipes and patterns that have become very popular on Pinterest, and I didn't want to frustrate people by removing them. However, going forward, my readers can expect a clear focus on early childhood education. I don't follow any kind of blogging schedule, as I quickly got burnt out on that before. My priorities are my family and students, and my blog is just a fun hobby that I get to when I can. If I don't post for weeks (or months) you won't find any apologies for it, but you will find more great resources and activities that I am excited to share!

Thanks for reading and following along!
